Is your mind always running? Has anxiety, stress, depression, or worry become the normal content of your thoughts?

Please join us for a 90 minute yoga workshop with visiting guest instructor Jenn Dean, M.Ed. RYT 200, where we will:

*Explore anxiety and depression through movement, breath, relaxation, & grounding practices.
*Learn how to recognize & interrupt the chronic loops of anxiety running through the mind.

This workshop is open to all levels. The workshop will start with a 30-minute informative session about essential oils that can be used to reduce anxiety and alleviate depression, followed by a 60-minute yoga practice incorporating the use of oils, asana, and mantras. Students will learn what asana, oils, and mantras are specifically used to combat both depression and anxiety. All participants will be taught how to do each pose in a safe manner and all poses can be accomplished inside or outside of a studio.

 

About Jenn

Jenn is a Washington state native who transplanted to Florida with her husband and two daughters (6 and 9) in 2015. Jenn has always had a passion for entrepreneurship and helping people. She first expressed this passion by obtaining a master’s degree in Education and opening her own tutoring business. Next, she started her own editing business. 

In 2017, she found herself in the hospital with doctors telling her that she was lucky to be alive. She presented with massive blood clots in her lungs and an enlarged heart. The near-death experience took its toll on her emotionally. Her doctor told her that she needed to find a way past the experience and incorporate self-care into her life. Insert yoga here.

Jenn found that when she practiced yoga, for the first time in her life, she was able to focus on and improve her emotional, mental, and physical health, all in one fell swoop. Yoga had such an immense impact on her life that she decided to take part in the North Port Yoga + Wellness 200-hour Teacher Training and has never
looked back.

Jenn is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga with everyone, and passionate about supporting the motto of: “Yoga is for every body.” Jenn tries to make yoga accessible to everyone by utilizing props and teaching poses in ways that can be done at home without props. She also feels that it is more important to learn a few poses and how to do them with integrity than do a lot of poses in ways that might cause injury.

Currently, you can find Jenn teaching restorative, chair, and Hatha yoga at Samacore Barre and Yoga in Eustis, Florida along with Gentle yoga at Waterman Village Retirement Community.
